Organic up 25 % in Poland

In 2011, the organic sector in Poland was worth about 82,5 million euros. This is equal to a growth rate of 25 % compared with the previous year (about 68,2 million euros). These findings were revealed in the study “Rynek zywnosci ekologicznej w Polsce 2011” carried out by the market research company Inquiry.

For 2012, experts predict a growth of 20 % for Poland, approximately 104 million euros, with the value of the market is expected to double. Currently, the market share on organic food in the total food market is 0.3 %, Wirtschaftskammer Österreich reports. Annual consumption per capita is 3 Euros.
