‘We are fed up!’ Demonstration January 17th in Berlin

We are getting ready for the big demonstration coming up in January. Over 30,000 demonstrated at the event in January 2014.  This year, we are expecting another huge, international turnout.  Mark your calendars now! –Wietze Action Camp

29.08.2013 – 01.09.2013 International Action Camp in Wietze: Farms instead of factories! BACKGROUND: Wietze in Lower Saxony is home to Europe’s largest chicken slaughter house. Subsidised with €6.5 million of taxpayers’ money, it aims to kill 430,000 chickens daily. It is a symbol of the kind of industrial farming that is destroying fair, green and local food and farming.This summer, the team at ‘Wir haben es satt’ are organising a large demonstration outside the factory. Taking place on 31 August, this will be their first demonstration to be held in temperatures above 0°C – hoorah! Find out who else is behind the event here. THE PROGRAMME: Either side of the demonstration, an international action camp is being organised to allow people to build pan-European networks, hold workshops and much much more. –Rally for a new agricultural policy in Germany

The German campaign „Meine Landwirtschaft – unsere Wahl“ (My agriculture – our choice): www.meine-landwirtschaft.de has organised an large, nation-wide rally through Germany culminating in a protest in front of the German chancellery. Following the „Wir haben es satt“ rally on 22 January 2011 in Berlin, one of the largest public demonstration for a new agricultural policy in recent German history, farmers from all over Germany have now toured Germany on their tractors all the way to Berlin where they convened on June 9th, 2011 for a protest rally in front of the German chancellery. They are calling for a small-scale, fair, animal-friendly and ecological agriculture.
