ARC2020 is organising a 10 day EU-wide Speakers’ tour on Land grabbing in Romania. The tour will see two speakers from Romania tour European capitals and cities between April 21 – 30th to highlight, debate and raise public awareness on the social, environmental and economic impact of large scale land acquisition by both, foreign and national companies. Find more background here.
It will build on a panel discussion that took place in January 2013 at Markthalle Neun in Berlin. The event saw a debate with farmers from Romania and Germany, with governmental and commercial representatives.

How to get involved
Within the ARC2020 Speakers tour project, funding is provided for the travel costs of the speakers and the translator. NGOs wishing to host the team and organise events would need to cover the costs accruing within their country such as accommodation, meals as well as potential costs related to hosting the event etc. Both speakers and the translator are happy to stay at private people’s home instead of hotels.
If you would like to host the team within the above dates and organise one or several events, please contact Stephanie Roth at campaign@arc2020.eu
