On Wednesday and Thursday this week, after more than a year of debate, the EP Agriculture and Rural Development Committee will vote on four pieces of legislation to reform the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The vote will pave the way for negotiations with Member States and the vote in Plenary in March 2013.

On Thursday at 14.00, chairman of the EU Parliament’s Agriculture Committee Paolo De Castro will brief journalists on the results of the vote in a press conference that will be web-streamed here:

He will do this together with three rapporteurs:
- Luis Manuel Capoulas Santos – Direct payments to farmers under support schemes within the framework of the CAP AND support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development
- Michel Dantin – Common organisation of the markets in agricultural products (Single CMO regulation
- Giovanni La Via – Financing, management and monitoring of the CAP
