“Proposals provide more flexibility to shape future rural development plans”

At a debate led by the Welsh Government on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Reform, on 29 November 2011, the government tabled a motion proposing that the assembly notes that securing the best deal for Wales from CAP Reform is a key priority. According to the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and European Programmes Alun Davies, the proposals provide more flexibility to shape future rural development plans to meet the changing needs of the rural economy and rural communities.
