‘We are fed up’ weekend in pictures

There was more to the We Are Fed Up demonstration than feet on the streets. Here are some pictures from the weekend’s activities.

Warm-up act (1): turning a tonne of salvaged vegetables into sustaining soup. Read Oliver Moore’s account of the SchnippelDisko.

Thousands of marchers converged on Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz: police estimated numbers at 30,000.

Warm-up act (2): as thousands massed in PotsdamerPlatz, international speakers greeted the marchers. (Centre picture) GM campaigners, Jim MacNutty (left) and Welsh organic farmer Gerald Miles (right) came with a message for biotech. International speakers included Pavlos Georgiadis, Pierre-Alain Prevost  and Tristram Stuart (pictured, right).

(Right) In the bright winter sunshine, thousands marched past the former Reichstag building to the Chancellery (Bundeskanzleramt) for speeches from the main stage (below). Links to more pictures of the demo are here.
